A New Chapter for Practifi: Introducing the Era of Intelligent CRM

The Intelligent Firm  |  Part 8 of 9

Key Takeaways

  • Practifi is introducing a new AI-native CRM designed from the ground up with AI in mind.
  • Practifi now offers two products built on a shared, enterprise-grade foundation: One is the proven system of record that already powers thousands of existing Practifi users. The other is a new AI-native CRM where intelligence is built into its foundation rather than added to it.
  • AI-native is an architectural distinction, not a marketing label.
  • Independent research shows the industry is not entering this moment from a single starting line. Firms sort into distinct groups based on how deliberately they treat technology strategy, which is exactly why one product cannot serve all of them for now.

The category-defining idea we have been building toward

We began this series by asking a simple question: what does it mean for a CRM to be intelligent?

Over the weeks, we’ve argued that, at its core, an Intelligent CRM is structurally different from CRMs that simply bolt AI features on as well as from isolated point solutions that connect onto an existing tech stack.

A truly intelligent CRM is one where AI is built into the system of record itself, working from full client context, producing action rather than just insight, and operating within a firm’s own governance controls.

That distinction matters.

In an industry where every role, not just the advisor, benefits when the system itself does the work, AI operating outside a firm’s system of record produces fragmented, unreliable intelligence instead of a real advantage.

Furthermore, efficiency alone is not a truly valuable AI strategy. Finding patterns, identifying opportunities, reducing manual workload — all these services are useful, but an intelligent CRM brings these benefits together seamlessly to create a system where every advisor, every firm rep, arrives to every client meeting fully informed and empowered to elevate their level of service.

And so that is why, today, we are announcing that we have built that system. On August 25th we will unveil an all-new AI-Native Intelligent CRM that will be available immediately as part of our suite of CRM solutions.

Two products, one platform

Practifi has long been a single CRM product, purpose-built for the unique complexities of wealth management. With the introduction of our Intelligent CRM however, Practifi will offer two products, each still purpose-built for wealth management, but each for a different starting point in a firm’s AI journey.

  1. OUR ESTABLISHED CRM
The enterprise CRM that already powers a firm’s day-to-day business: proven, configurable, and built for the depth a large or complex practice requires.

  2. OUR NEW AI-NATIVE INTELLIGENT CRM
A CRM that is designed from the foundation up with AI in mind so intelligence is simply how the system works, not a feature layered on top.

Both products live on the same shared Practifi foundation, ensuring that regardless of the product, they enjoy the same level of compliance control, enterprise capacity, and a purpose-built framework that accommodates the unique complexities of wealth management. That way, a firm does not have to choose between depth and intelligence. Rather, they choose the product that matches where they are today. Whether that means AI-native at the start or our long-established CRM.

What our Intelligent CRM will ship with

Earlier in this series, we set out four criteria for what makes a CRM genuinely intelligent: AI central to the architecture, a shipped workforce of named agents, enterprise-grade foundations, and unified pricing.

Our new AI-native CRM was built to meet all four from the start, not retrofitted to approximate them.

That’s why the system’s built-in AI capabilities work across every client record, workflow, and interaction. It proactively surfaces what advisors need instead of just storing what they enter, with every insight cited to trusted records within the CRM. That way, every rep at the firm can act with confidence knowing nothing happens without human review.

Within the new Intelligent CRM, users will find a network of built in tools that operate together to not just drive efficiency, but truly elevate the level of service they provide, including:

  • Specialized AI Agents that span a variety of key topics including tax, financial planning, client sentiment, and more. Each is purpose-built and clearly named for what it does, and each continuously interprets client context, prepares work, and surfaces next steps so teams can act on specific client goals. Every member of the workforce draws on a context-specific knowledge base of more than 200 primary sources spanning industry guidance, academic research, and legislation. That way, every agent is grounded in real expertise as well as client data and works to shift advisors from feeding the system to being briefed by it.
  • Auto-generated briefings that leverage AI and CRM data to surface key client insights before advisors have to ask.
  • A native AI notetaker that joins video and in-person meetings to capture full audio and transcripts, so advisors stay fully present with the client instead of taking notes.
  • A meeting prep workspace that pre-drafts notes from the firm’s own template ahead of every meeting, so that advisors walk in ready to engage instead of assembling materials the night before.
  • A universal timeline that places every event tied to a relationship, including meetings, emails, service requests, life events, and more, in one chronological view. With it, any team member can get up to speed on a relationship in seconds.
  • Wealth management-specific cross collaboration tools across roles, including purpose-built Front Office, Back Office, and Executive experiences, so every role has clear ownership of shared client work across the firm.

Why the industry needs two paths, not one

Wealth management firms are not entering this moment from the same starting line. In a 2026 WealthStack Study, based on research from 377 advisors, executives, and industry professionals, they found that firms now sort into three distinct groups: Innovators, Operators, and Laggards, separated less by size or client base than by how deliberately each firm treats its technology strategy.

Most firms are already using or piloting AI in some form, and the study’s authors describe technology as an increasingly strategic necessity rather than a back-office decision.

That is exactly why a single product cannot serve the industry well right now. One platform, two paths, is a direct response to that gap. Not as a hedge but as a catalyst to push the industry forward.

Why we are doubling down on CRM and AI together

A Datos Insights survey of 436 financial advisors and 71 wealth management executives found that CRM was the second-highest-value tool in the RIA technology stack, rated above financial planning software, portfolio management, and trading tools. The same research found that firm-level AI investment is flowing into CRM-native functions, security and compliance monitoring, personalization, and legacy system integration, not around the CRM, but through it.

That research captures the case for treating this evolution in CRM as a category we are investing more deeply in, not a single feature we are shipping. A firm evaluating either product is not choosing between CRM and AI. It is choosing how it wants the two to work together.

Which path fits your firm today

PROVEN DEPTH FIRST

Your firm already runs on a stable operational foundation, is still defining how AI should support your advisors, and wants proven depth first, with intelligence added on your own timeline.

AI-NATIVE FROM DAY ONE

Your firm is ready to make continuous, specialist-level AI attention the default across every client relationship, not an experiment running alongside your existing process.

Neither answer is a judgment about where a firm should be. Both are legitimate starting points, and both lead somewhere.

What does not change

Choosing a path is not a permanent decision. Both products share the same enterprise foundation, the same support team, and the same company standing behind them. A firm that starts with proven depth today can move to the AI-Native product whenever it is ready, with no need to start from scratch.
