We’re excited to introduce Practifi Blaufränkisch, a release that transforms how administrators customize their CRM and how teams document client work. Named after the Austrian grape prized for its structure and elegance, this release brings powerful AI-driven administration tools and expanded documentation capabilities that give wealth management firms unprecedented control over their operations.
With Blaufränkisch, we’re launching Smart Component Builder, a breakthrough AI capability that eliminates the technical barriers to CRM customization, while also expanding Smart Notes across every activity type in Practifi.
We’re also introducing the Create an Entity wizard to simplify client onboarding, enhanced Black Diamond integration features for faster migration, and dozens of productivity improvements that reduce manual work across your firm.
This release marks a pivotal moment in Practifi’s mission to make wealth management technology accessible, intelligent, and purpose-built for how advisors work.
Let’s explore what’s new:
Product Enhancements
Smart Component Builder: Customize Your CRM by Describing What You Want
Configuring your CRM is now as simple as describing what you need. Smart Component Builder makes component customization accessible to every administrator—no technical expertise required.
This AI-powered tool, part of our Admin Intelligence add-on, lets you create and edit Practifi components using plain language. Add columns to tables, create custom tiles, adjust layouts—all through natural conversation instead of technical configuration.
Here’s how it works: Open any tile or table via the edit icon (or start from scratch in the Settings app), describe what you want in natural language, and watch the AI build it in real time. A split-panel interface shows your conversation on the left and a live preview on the right—as you refine your requirements through dialogue, the component updates instantly.
Key capabilities:
- Conversational building: The AI guides you step-by-step, asking clarifying questions to build exactly what you need rather than requiring perfect prompts
- Edit throughout Practifi: Click the edit icon on any existing tile or table to modify it, and your changes appear immediately across all pages
- Safe editing: When editing standard components, the system automatically creates a clone to preserve your customizations during upgrades
- Manual JSON editor: Technical users can make quick adjustments using the built-in editor with formatting and validation
- Restore original: If changes don’t work as expected, revert to the configuration at the start of your session
The result? Administrators can now iterate and adapt their CRM at the speed of business, spending less time on technical configuration and more time on strategic work that drives firm growth. Self-service customization that happens in a single conversation.

Create an Entity Wizard: Streamlined Client Onboarding
Previously, creating a client entity required multiple separate actions: create a Household or Organization record, return to run Promote to Prospect, return again to run Promote to Client. This approach ensured accuracy, but forced you to remember which steps you’d completed and repeat the same process for every new client.
The Create an Entity wizard consolidates the entire journey, from initial entity creation through full client promotion, into one continuous, guided workflow. Select entity type and lifecycle stage, enter entity details and members, add classifications, and complete promotion flows all in a single session. Smart defaults, clear progress indicators, and embedded workflows ensure you capture the right information while saving significant time.
The wizard is available as a global action from anywhere in Practifi, so you can create entities without first navigating to a specific page. After completion, the success screen provides immediate next actions: go directly to the entity’s record page, create another entity, or simply close.
The Create an Entity wizard transforms what was once a fragmented, multi-step process into a single, efficient workflow that saves time and reduces cognitive burden.
Smart Notes Expansion: Documentation Across All Activities
Since launching Smart Notes, we’ve seen strong adoption from firms who’ve transformed how they document client interactions. Based on your feedback, we’re expanding this powerful capability across every activity type in Practifi. Smart Notes are no longer limited to Events and Entity records; they’re now available on Tasks and Calls, bringing AI-powered documentation, rich text editing, and collaboration features to every activity type in Practifi.
New capabilities include:
- Smart Notes on Task records: Create, edit, and manage Smart Notes directly from tasks with full AI assistance and rich formatting
- Automatic Smart Note creation from Call descriptions: When enabled, call descriptions are automatically converted into Smart Notes when logged, preserving information in a more structured format
- Smart Notes roll-up: Notes created from Tasks and Calls automatically roll up to related Entity records, so all relevant documentation appears in one place
- Mobile access: Smart Notes are now accessible on the Salesforce mobile app, including for Tasks and logged Calls
We’ve also introduced Categories for Smart Notes, Templates, and Content Blocks to help teams organize large libraries. System Administrators can define categories centrally, and users can assign and filter by them across the Smart Notes experience. The system supports separate taxonomies for library content (Templates and Content Blocks) and client-facing notes, keeping documentation focused and scannable.
Additionally, users can now pin important Smart Notes to keep them easily accessible at the top of lists on related records, so your critical notes remain visible even as new notes are created.
Smart Notes Migration Tool: Preserve Your Historical Data
Firms have accumulated valuable client information in traditional Salesforce notes and activity description fields over years of operation. The new Smart Notes Migration Tool provides a centralized interface for converting existing Notes, Task Descriptions, Call Descriptions, and Event Descriptions into Smart Notes, eliminating the need for manual data entry or custom development work.
The Migration tab (located on the Smart Notes page in Settings) displays four content types available for conversion, with live counts of records available for migration. Administrators can migrate each content type independently, with confirmation pop-ups showing exactly how many Smart Notes will be created before processing begins. The migration runs as an asynchronous background job designed to handle instances with millions of records.
Your historical client documentation can now be preserved in the same rich, AI-enhanced format as your current notes, maintaining continuity while gaining access to Smart Notes’ powerful features.
Automated Bulk Sync for Black Diamond: Faster Onboarding
Migrating large volumes of client data from Black Diamond into Practifi just got dramatically faster. Previously, syncing 300+ clients during advisor onboarding required manual, screen-by-screen interaction with the sync flow (a process that could take weeks).
With automated bulk processing capabilities, you can now programmatically automate the sync process using a new screenless version of the Send to Black Diamond flow. The flow accepts a single record ID as input and can be invoked through Apex, Salesforce Flows, or Salesforce Process Builder, enabling batch processing of hundreds or thousands of records. This automation reduces onboarding time from weeks to days while using the same reliable logic as the manual flow.
We’ve also enhanced how Practifi handles deleted Black Diamond portfolios and strengthened AUM calculation accuracy. When a Black Diamond Portfolio is deleted, associated assets are automatically marked as Disposed in Practifi and excluded from AUM calculations, so your reporting reflects only active client holdings.
Enhanced Prefilling and Event Creation in Active Forms
Active Forms now provide greater flexibility and control when creating events and prefilling form fields:
Formula-based prefilling for all Active Form fields: A new “With a formula” option enables sophisticated prefilling scenarios that weren’t previously possible. All Active Form fields can now be prefilled using Salesforce formulas, supporting complex default value calculations, reducing manual data entry, and ensuring consistent defaults across your organization.
Backend flexibility for event duration: The backend event-creation logic now accepts either an explicit end time (EndDateTime) or a duration value (DurationInMinutes) that the system uses to calculate the end time. This enables formula-based duration calculations for event end times, providing backend flexibility for event creation workflows.
Practifi Intelligence Subscription Monitoring
A new daily scheduled job monitors the number of assigned Intelligence users against purchased seat counts. When assigned users exceed the purchased limit, the system automatically sends email notifications to administrators, providing visibility into current seat usage and allowing timely action to stay within subscription limits.
The License Overview on the Intelligence Features page displays assigned vs. purchased seat counts, giving administrators a clear view of current usage. The system does not automatically remove users; administrators have full control over which users are removed from Intelligence license assignments based on their organization’s needs.
AI Notetaker Calendar Connection Management
A new Manage Calendars tab in the AI Notetaker settings provides administrators with a centralized interface to view and manage calendar connections. Administrators can now disconnect a user’s calendar connection directly from Notetaker settings using the Disconnect button, with proper removal of Recall Calendar IDs to prevent incorrect reuse across different users.
This addresses an issue where calendar connections could be incorrectly reused, causing one user’s calendar events to appear in another user’s Meeting Digest. After disconnection, affected users must re-authenticate their calendar connection to continue using AI Notetaker.
Enhanced Field Audit Trail in Practifi Protect
As part of Salesforce’s Spring ’26 release, Field Audit Trail limits increased from 60 to 200 fields per object for organizations with Salesforce Shield or Field Audit Trail licenses. Practifi Protect’s Enhanced Field Audit Trail now supports up to 200 tracked fields per object, with changes retained for up to 10 years, expanding capacity for firms with extensive regulatory or operational audit requirements.
No action is required; this is a platform-level Salesforce change automatically available to eligible Practifi organizations. Administrators can now expand Field Audit Trail coverage based on specific compliance needs.
Resolved Issues by Product Area
In addition to the enhancements above, we’ve addressed several key issues to improve data accuracy, workflow reliability, and user experience across Practifi:
