Marketing Systems & Data Manager

Experience: 4+ years | Location: Chicago, IL

As a Marketing Systems & Data Manager, you will have tremendous impact on the company’s lead flow and reporting, as well as sales & marketing’s day-to-day process. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver and skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining appropriate focus on both efficiency and detail. This is a unique growth opportunity; the role will evolve as our team grows and our marketing matures.

The marketing team works in an Agile environment, leveraging tools like Asana and JIRA to navigate planning and sprints. You will have excellent communication skills and ability to interact with stakeholders across the business.

Marketing Systems Administration

  • Admin for Practifi’s mar-tech stack (HubSpot, WordPress, Moz, Canva, Typeform, to name a few), disseminating new features to the marketing team, finding efficiency gaps and developing solutions, and supporting best practice use of our systems. 
  • Document, configure, and coordinate data practices for marketing systems (and ensure those systems ‘play nice’ with other business tools). 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure marketing is in alignment with broader systems and data strategies. 
  • As we grow, you will also support additions and changes to our technology stack.

Data Management

  • Oversee and champion marketing data management best practices, ensuring the best possible quality, completeness, and correctness across record types (contacts, accounts, deals). These records are housed within our marketing automation platform, HubSpot.
  • Serve as the internal expert on the data structure
  • Support list segmentation efforts for communications and campaign launches
  • Represent Marketing at broader-scale master data management discussions and projects (though, for now, you’ll be working toward making Hubspot the “single source of truth”).

Reporting & Optimization

  • Develop and maintain reporting metrics
  • Provide ad-hoc data extracts
  • Conduct light analysis on data
  • Work with both Marketing and Sales colleagues to manage pipeline reporting and overall lead management.
  • Spec. requirements to challenges or optimizations of the company website, as identified by lifecycle marketing managers. Ability to solve challenges is a plus, but ability to liaise with vendors/agencies tasked with actioning is a must.
  • Additional responsibilities, as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Background in marketing operations preferred
  • Knowledge of the financial advice space a plus
  • Familiarity with WordPress structure and templates a plus 
  • Front-end web development skills a plus
  • Familiarity with integrated sales & marketing pipeline management and SaaS structures required
  • Data obsessed and you love analyzing and solving problems at scale
  • Proactive self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset; Inquisitive, logical mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to handle and execute on complex projects in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision and successfully meet established deadlines
  • Works effectively both independently and as a member of a cross functional team
  • Uses sound judgment to identify issues and escalates when appropriate
  • Contribute to improvements in processes (technical or business) used by marketing and sales teams
  • Ability to identify key needs or gaps and provide leadership to close those gaps
  • Eager to learn from mistakes, takes action to apply the learnings and provides peer and team wide feedback for those in immediate area of focus

This is a permanent full-time position. It is offered under a common-law employment agreement with the accompanying employee protections.

The remuneration associated with the role will be individually negotiated with the successful applicant and will be based on experience and fit for the role.
